Tom Young set out for his first real challenge on the bike since his off season training began in November last year.I have really been putting Tom through his paces in the gym and it all seems to be paying off.

Read below for Toms latest track testing report

As part of our pre-season testing to get ready for the first round of the British Superstock series in April, we attended the MRO race meeting at Brands Hatch. To maximize my track time over the weekend I entered both the supersport and the superstock classes.

I have been working really hard on both my fitness and diet over the winter, by losing nearly half a stone in body fat. I have been training hard with Mark at M10 Fitness in Newark, this has been a great help to me both physically and mentally. I was keen to put my new fitness program to the test which worked fantastic and I am really pleased with the progress I am making.

Over the course of the weekend we found the correct gearing for the bike and made some suspension/set-up improvements. I tried a higher spec of front folks which I gelled with straight away, this gave me a great deal more front end feel. I got within 0.6 of the circuit record on a very cold track on old tyres which has given me some real confidence.

Over the course of the weekend my results were; 4th,3rd,5th,3rd and 4th. This was against many of my other main championship competitors which I was really pleased about.

Now I need to consistently build up my lap times and results, and work towards the front of the field as the season progresses.
